Happy New Year ... 2009 ...

Happy New Year 2009 to all of you.

Just got back my notebook from my neighbor and the first thing i do is to logon and write something in my blog for the year of 2009.

Well i guess 4 of us (Me, ivy, Haan, Wyng) ended our trip in Vietnam and Cambodia on the 1st Jan 2009. Me and Ivy conquered most of the different states from north to south of Vietnam while Haan and Wyng separated from us after the North Vietnam expedition to Cambodia. Wyng was back to Singapore and Haan was there too as she told me that she hasn't been in Singapore for about 14 years.

As for these 2 weeks trip, it was exciting at first and but towards the end at HCMC (Ho Chi Minh City), I was really tired and didn't spend much of time wandering around. The long ride on bus for more than 24 hours just to get to another city was really not a fun thing to do. When all of us in Hanoi, we were taken care nicely by Haan's and Wyng's friends with the local foods and home cook foods and also bringing us around. So we actually didn't feel much of worries if we were to get cheated by the locals as we being accompanied by Vietnamese friends. Foreigners price tags are very much differ. Except the very first day morning in Hanoi, a lady tried to cheat or forced me and Haan to buy banana from her with a ridiculous price after i took a picture of her together with Haan after she told us 'Take Picture ... Free' ..(never believe that) ...
Anyway, it turns out to be a dissapoinment to her as we didn't pay a single cents but just a few mandarin oranges from us and shooh her away with the help of the hotel staff..
Our truely backpacking adventure actually starts after we left Hanoi. Me and Ivy didn't actually plan or pre-booked any hotels. We just booked it a day before or we just walk along the streets to find an accomodation.

While on the plane flying back to Malaysia, I browsed through the photos taken in for the first few days and it was quite dissapointed as i don't have any FEEL at all on those photos taken. Will try to find few good ones and processed and shared it with you guys.

I just wished I can sit here continue writing and edit my photos but got some errands to run.

Will update this blog very soon with our journey....
